Citizenship

The Citizenship curriculum essentially helps to provide pupils with knowledge, skills and understanding to prepare them to play a full and active part in society. It promotes the importance of Citizenship now and in the future, raising awareness of issues we face in a constantly changing society. Citizenship raises awareness and an understanding of democracy, government and how laws are made and upheld in society. The curriculum is designed to develop students’ understanding of their place in society and how that has evolved over time as well as appreciating differences between our own society and others across the world, thus equipping students with the skills and knowledge to explore political and social issues critically and teaching key Citizenship concepts
