School Uniform

All students are expected to wear the school uniform and should be dressed appropriately for school, wearing the approved school uniform as listed in this policy.  Home support is expected with our uniform policy and it is designed to save students and parents from being caught up in the expense of the “extravagances of fashion”.

TLA School Uniform Policy

Students must wear full school uniform:

• Black school trousers/knee length skirt (listed school skirt and trouser designs ONLY)
• Black socks, ankle or knee length (no over-knee length)
• White shirt (to include a collar and a top button)
• School tie
• Navy blue jumper (with school logo)
• Plain black sensible shoes (no coloured marking or decoration)
• Coat or jacket (no ‘hoodies’ or extra jumpers/cardigans to be worn in school)

In addition no hats (baseball/fashion) will be allowed to be worn with the exception of a woolly hat during the cold winter months. When woolly hats are permitted, they should not be worn in classrooms or corridors.

Jewellery, Hair and Cosmetics

Small stud earrings (ONE pair) are allowed but large hoop earrings are not. No “ear stretchers” are allowed. A wrist watch may be worn as can smart watches, although these do fall under the phone policy of not being seen or heard during the school day. Nose studs and other piercings are NOT acceptable in school and contravene Health and Safety regulations.  (NO JEWELLERY IS TO BE WORN DURING PE LESSONS)

Nails should be of a suitable length to fully participate in all activities safely. Make-up should be understated and subtle.

Hair may not be worn in extreme or inappropriate styles. Hair accessories should be suitable for students to participate in all activities safely.

• Uniform will be available 365 days a year online taking Visa and Mastercard
• Next working day despatch if ordered by noon Monday - Friday
• Free second-class delivery for all orders over £50 + VAT, (£3.75 for second-class delivery on smaller orders)
• Collect your orders and drop off returns free at the Clacton distribution centre.
