Geography
The Geography curriculum at TLA fundamentally engages students with a love of learning about the world. It promotes the importance of Geography now and in the future, raising awareness of challenges and opportunities we face in a constantly evolving world through the provision of a broad and balanced curriculum including many aspects of human and physical Geography. The curriculum is designed to develop students’ understanding of their place in the world across a range of scales, whilst developing key skills and teaching key Geographical concepts. It is our job as Geography teachers to ignite that passion within our students in order to save the world by promoting a key interest in the subject and recognising the importance of Geographical issues in our everyday lives through the study of current topical issues and core Geographical concepts. As a department we believe that our curriculum goes beyond preparing our students for summative assessments and GCSE exams but inspires a love of the subject and promotes the importance of Geography in a wider view of the world, inspiring the next generation to ensure the future sustainability of our planet.
